Auto Scaling

Auto Scaling

Automatically grow your Cloudn virtual server resources to meet changes in demand. Cloudn Auto Scaling supports an Amazon AWS compatible API and is triggered by a wide range of environmental metrics or a predefined schedule.

Synchronize with LBA

Auto Scaling ensures the number of virtual machine (VM) instances providing public cloud server resources matches your application load.

Synchronize Cloudn Auto Scaling and Cloudn Load Balancing Advanced (LBA) to ease potential congestion on virtual servers and add scalability to applications.

Cloudn Auto Scaling supports an Amazon AWS compatible API.
The API can be used to:
Automatically increase/decrease compute virtual servers

  • Virtual servers can be automatically increased or decreased according to the launch configuration of the Auto Scaling group. An Auto Scaling group is the group of virtual servers being automatically scaled. It is the unit used when configuring Auto Scaling behavior. You can set the maximum number of VMs allowed in a specific Auto Scaling group.

Configure Auto Scaling Triggers

  • Auto Scaling triggers are based on Cloudn Monitoring metrics or a predefined schedule.

Link with Load Balancer Advanced

  • When combined with Cloudn Load Balancing Advanced, Auto Scaling not only increases or decreases virtual servers based on demand, but can also automatically add or remove certain virtual servers from the load balancing destination.

See Related Resources for a guide to Cloudn Auto Scaling APIs.
