Tokyo No.4 Data Center Virtual Tour

Get to know our data center
The following images give you an in-depth virtual tour of our Japan Tokyo No.4 data center facility.

Tokyo No.4 Data Center is located 3 km away from Tokyo station and is accessible from several railway lines. The height of the first floor of the building exceeds the highest water level expected in the next 200 years, so there are almost no risks of natural disasters.

An IC card will be issued by a reception machine placed at the first floor for customers to go through the security gate and reach the reception at the second floor.

An operator will confirm your identity at the reception with the information from the Web Entry System and a photo identification. After confirmed, an IC card and rack keys will be provided.

Our loading bay is capable of a four-ton truck at most. It is located indoor so customers are able to carry in/out their equipment without being effected by the weather.

UNPACKING ROOM
The unpacking room is secured by a shutter.

There is a freight elevator capable of large-size equipment.

ACCESS CONTROL
For higher security, the elevator has installed access control function so that customers can only access the floor that they have contracted.

IC card authentication is required at the security gate to enter the data center area.

BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION DEVICE
A finger vein authentication device is installed inside the circle gate for high security.

Our data center has a 600 mm raised floor with loading capacity of 1,500 kg/sqm. The server room is fully capable of installation of high-density racks.

AIR FLOW MANAGEMENT
We adopt Airflow Management that isolates cold air and equipment from waste heat to improve Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of the air-conditioning units.

STANDARD RACK
We have installed 46U high-density racks with loading capacity of 750 kg as standard racks to realize higher load efficiency compared to other standard data centers. The average power supply to a rack is 6 kVA. Customer-dedicated racks and cages are also available to meet various needs of customers.

AIR-CONDITIONING UNITS
The air-conditioning units are taking N+1 redundant configuration. We adopt highly efficient water-cooling system with great cooling capacity.

Our data center adopts waterless Nitrogen gas fire suppression system. Early warning smoke detection system is also installed in the data center building.

Tokyo No.4 Data Center is a carrier neutral data center with two routes for communication cables pulled in.

The power receiving units receive extra-high 66,000 V through dual path (1 active path/1 passive path)

The UPS provides uninterrupted power through batteries with capacity to sustain power for more than 10 minutes to the data center in case of power failure. They are in N+1 redundant configuration to secure safety during maintenances.

We adopt highly reliable gas turbine generators which are also used for get airplanes. They are in N+1 redundant configuration and the spare engine starts up simultaneously in case the main engine does not work.

Tokyo No.4 Data Center is a seismic isolation structure building which withstands earthquake as big as Great East Japan earthquake in 2011. The seismic isolation system prevents the shaking from directly affecting the building and reduces the shock (acceleration) 80% at most.

LAMINATED RUBBER SHOE
We adopt two types of seismic isolation system. "The laminated rubber" shoe is made of alternately overlapped rubber and iron plates. It supports the building and prevents seismic shaking from being transmitted. "The laminated rubber shoe with lead plug" is made of rubber with a lead plug inside of it. It minimizes seismic shaking by the damping force of lead plug.

The cooling water circulates between the air-conditioning units in the server room and the cooling tower with dual path.

SOLAR PANELS
Solar panels are placed at the rooftop of the building. We reduce greenhouse gases emissions by utilizing the solar power for lighting inside the data center.

Customer lounge for common use is available in the building. There are vending machines and customers are allowed to eat and drink at this space.

Operators monitor and operate customers' systems and equipment 24/7.
