NTT Communications and Emerson Network Power To First Introduce Green Data Center Thermal Management Solution in Hong Kong

New front-flow cooling design increased energy efficiency by over 20% compared with traditional systems

(Hong Kong – November 18, 2015) -- NTT Communications, the ICT solutions and international communications business within the NTT (NYSE: NTT) Group, announced today the launch of a new data center cooling technology and will debut at its upcoming Hong Kong Financial Data Center Tower 2 (FDC2), which is set to open in December. Being the first to introduce in Hong Kong, the green thermal management solution features a new front-flow cooling system (AHU), which is designed to optimize both energy usage and cost of the data center - increasing energy efficiency by over 20% compared with traditional cooling systems.

The innovative front-flow cooling system, which is a custom air handling and Fay Array CRAH, launched in partnership with Emerson Network Power, the world’s leading provider of critical infrastructure technologies and life cycle services for information and communications technology systems, is designed to keep power consumption to a minimum while ensuring the data center stays online and is reliable at all time. This ultimately benefits enterprise users that leverage lower energy costs to build a competitive business edge.

The FDC2 is set to launch in December 2015, and is the second phase of NTT Communications Hong Kong Financial Data Center. With over 4,000 racks of additional server space added to the complex, the new data center will help enterprises prepare for the future, as IT equipment becomes increasingly complex and the demand for cost-efficient and sustainable IT capacity growth increases exponentially.
